Camp Figtree is a private lodge set on top of the stunning Zuurberg Mountain range, resting between the Addo Elephant National Park and the Riverbend Conservancy.

Location: Addo Elephant National Park

Camp Figtree is situated 75 kilometers (or an hour's drive) from Port Elizabeth, within South Africa's Eastern Cape Province. Daily scheduled flights are operated from Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban to Port Elizabeth. For tailor made flights contact African Ramble for a quote.

 

Climate

Summer - October to March

Predominantly dry seasons with hot days and warm nights. Temperatures range from 25 to 40 degrees centigrade. Rainfall can be experienced during this period with exceptional summer rainfall in the north.

 

Winter - April to August
This is the rainy season with generally cool days and cold nights.
Temperatures range from 5 to 25 degrees centigrade

 

What to take

  • Light clothing and swimming costumes in summer
  • Sun hat, sunglasses and sun block
  • Warm clothing and jackets in winter and summer
  • Walking shoes
  • Cameras and binoculars

Children

  • Children under 12 years pay 50% of the quoted adult rate
  • 2 of the suites have separate bedrooms with bunkbeds to accommodate children

General

  • Laundry and valet services are available on request
  • A baby-sitting service is available on request
  • Malaria precautions are not required
